Four Seasons Bali Jimbaran Bay

Our Unforgettable Stay at Four Seasons Bali Jimbaran Bay

Embarking on our adventure to Bali with Shelly was like stepping into a dream. Among the many beautiful places we explored, the Four Seasons Bali Jimbaran Bay stands out as a gem. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of the island, this luxurious resort offered us a magical retreat. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the resort’s stunning architecture, the lush tropical surroundings, and the warm hospitality that made us feel right at home.

Hotel Overview

Located on the pristine shores of Jimbaran Bay, the Four Seasons resort is a tropical paradise. The architecture of the resort combines traditional Balinese design with modern luxury, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. The resort is spread across 35 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, dotted with vibrant flowers, towering palm trees, and intricate stone carvings that reflect Bali’s rich cultural heritage.

Walking through the resort, we were greeted with pristine views, warm smiles and the fragrance of frangipani flowers. It was almost an overload for the senses! The attention to detail in the landscaping and the thoughtfully placed art pieces made every corner of the resort a visual delight. The resort’s layout ensures a sense of privacy and tranquility, with winding pathways leading to secluded villas, serene pools, and quiet corners where you can relax and soak in the beauty of your surroundings.

Our Room

We stayed in one of the resort’s beautiful ocean-view villas, and it was simply breathtaking. One of the nicest rooms we’ve ever stayed in, and that’s saying something! The villa was a perfect blend of comfort and style, featuring a spacious bedroom with a netted canopy bed, a living area decorated with traditional Balinese artwork, and a luxurious bathroom with a deep soaking tub. The room was adorned with beautiful wood carvings, silk cushions, and local textiles, giving it a distinct Balinese charm.

The best part, however, was the private plunge pool on our terrace. We spent many mornings lounging by the pool, sipping on fresh coconut water, and taking in the panoramic views of the bay. We loved ordering room service and eating it on our terrace. The villa also came with a range of modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV, a well-stocked minibar, and high-speed Wi-Fi. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the nightly turndown service, the plush bathrobes and slippers, and the selection of aromatic bath salts that made our stay even more special.

Amenities

The Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay offers an array of world-class amenities that cater to every need. The resort boasts several infinity pools, each with stunning views and ample lounging space. We particularly enjoyed the main pool, which is set against the backdrop of the ocean and surrounded by lush greenery. The attentive poolside service ensured we were always well-hydrated and comfortable, with refreshing drinks and tasty snacks delivered to our loungers. I may have developed a slight addiction to their lobster rolls. They were some of the best I’ve had anywhere! And we loved always having plates of beautifully arranged fresh fruit to nibble on.

The fitness center is well-equipped, and when we could drag ourselves away from our villa, we enjoyed a couple of invigorating workouts there. The gym offers a range of state-of-the-art equipment, as well as yoga and pilates classes that cater to all fitness levels. For those who prefer outdoor activities, the resort provides bicycles, tennis courts, and water sports equipment.

One of the highlights of our stay was the spa. It was decadent and the perfect way to combat jet lag. The Healing Village Spa at Four Seasons is an oasis of tranquility, offering a variety of treatments that use natural, locally sourced ingredients. Shelly and I indulged in a Balinese couple’s massage that left us feeling completely relaxed. If you haven’t had a Balinese massage, you are missing out. It is comprised of techniques passed down through generations, and combines stretching, long strokes and skin-rolling with palm and thumb pressure. It’s the perfect cure for jet lag! In addition to massages, the spa offers a range of therapies, including facials, body scrubs, and other traditional Balinese healing rituals.

Dining Experience

The dining options at the resort are exceptional. We had the pleasure of dining at Taman Wantilan, where we savored a delightful array of Indonesian dishes. The nasi goreng and chicken satay were among our favorites, and I thought the fresh seafood was simply excellent. The restaurant’s open-air setting, with its panoramic views of the bay and the gentle sound of waves, made every meal a memorable experience. We had some of the best food of our time in Bali here.

For a more casual dining experience, we visited Sundara, the resort’s beachfront restaurant. With its relaxed vibe and stunning ocean views, it quickly became one of our favorite spots. The menu offers a mix of international and Asian cuisine, and we particularly enjoyed the fresh salads and delicious desserts. The Sunday brunch at Sundara is a must-try, featuring a lavish spread of gourmet dishes, live cooking stations, and bottomless drinks.

The resort also offers private dining experiences, and we indulged in a romantic dinner on the beach. With a table set up right on the sand, surrounded by flickering candles and the sound of the ocean, it was an unforgettable evening. The chef prepared a bespoke menu of steak and red snapper for us, featuring the freshest local ingredients and exquisite flavors that delighted our taste buds.

Activities at the Hotel

The Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay offers a variety of activities that cater to different interests. We participated in a traditional Balinese cooking class, where we learned to prepare some of our favorite local dishes. The class was held in a beautiful open-air kitchen, and the chef guided us through the process of selecting fresh ingredients, preparing the dishes, and finally enjoying our creations. It was a fun and educational experience that gave us a deeper appreciation for Balinese cuisine.

The resort also offers yoga sessions on the beach, which provided a peaceful start to one our mornings. Practicing yoga with the sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze was a truly rejuvenating experience. Even though I can barely touch my toes on a good day, I really enjoyed the entire experience. In addition to yoga, the resort offers meditation classes, tai chi, and wellness workshops that promote relaxation and well-being.

One evening, we attended a cultural dance performance organized by the resort. It was a mesmerizing display of traditional Balinese dance and music, and we appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the local culture. The resort also offers art and craft classes, where guests can learn about Balinese painting, wood carving, and batik making.

For those who enjoy water activities, the resort provides complimentary snorkeling gear, paddleboards, and kayaks. We spent a delightful afternoon exploring the calm waters of the bay, spotting colorful fish and coral reefs. The resort also offers guided snorkeling and diving excursions for those who want to explore Bali’s underwater wonders more deeply.

Nearby Attractions and Activities

While the resort itself offers plenty to do, we also took the time to explore the surrounding area. Jimbaran Bay is famous for its seafood restaurants, and we enjoyed a romantic sunset dinner on the beach, with our feet in the sand and the sound of waves in the background. The seafood market in Jimbaran is a bustling hub where you can select your own fresh catch and have it cooked to your liking at one of the nearby restaurants. For those of you that don’t like seafood (like Shelly) there is always other dishes like steak or chicken available.

Another must-visit attraction is the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud. This lush forest is home to hundreds of playful monkeys and several ancient temples. Walking through the forest, we marveled at the towering trees, the intricate stone carvings, and the mischievous monkeys that entertained us with their antics.

For those looking for adventure, Bali offers a range of activities such as surfing, hiking, and white-water rafting. We spent an exhilarating day rafting down the Ayung River, navigating through rapids and taking in the stunning scenery of rice terraces and waterfalls. The amazing Four Seasons concierges will arrange all of this for you, so you can concentrate on relaxing and enjoying this incredible resort.

Overall Experience

Our stay at the Four Seasons Bali Jimbaran Bay was truly unforgettable. From the luxurious accommodations and exceptional dining to the wide range of activities and the warm hospitality, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. The resort’s attention to detail and commitment to excellence made us feel pampered and cared for throughout our visit.

The highlights of our visit include the serene moments spent in our private villa and pool, the rejuvenating spa treatments, and the enriching cultural experiences. We left the resort with a deep appreciation for Balinese culture and a treasure trove of wonderful memories.

If you’re looking for a luxurious and serene getaway in Bali, we highly recommend the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, indulge, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or cultural enrichment, this resort offers something for everyone. Shelly and I can’t wait to return and experience more of the magic that this beautiful place has to offer.
