It was so bad that it almost kept her from getting on a flight to be at the birth of my first child (and her first grandchild). Turbulence? Completely normal. Pilots and flight attendants experience it daily and know exactly how to handle it. Modern aircraft are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, and pilots undergo rigorous training to ensure your safety at all times.

Every commercial pilot has logged thousands of flight hours before they ever step into the cockpit of your flight. They’re trained for every possible scenario, meaning they know exactly what to do in any situation. So, if they look relaxed, you should be too!

Dehydration can make anxiety worse, so drink plenty of water. Also, skip the coffee—caffeine can heighten anxiety and make you feel more on edge.
